The BD-SL-i.MX6 board (formerly the SABRE Lite board) is a low-cost development platform featuring the powerful i.MX 6Quad applications processor. Products based on the NXP/Freescale SABRE (Smart Application Blueprint for Rapid Engineering) Lite platform for i.MX 6 applications processors enable cost-effective, rapid development of multimedia applications for Android® and Linux® operating systems. The i.MX6 series of applications processors combines scalable platforms with broad levels of integration and power-efficient processing capabilities particularly suited to multimedia applications.
The BD-SL-i.MX6 was the original i.MX6 reference platform. Because of that, there is significant software support in the community including Yocto, Buildroot, Ubuntu, Debian, Android 5.0, QNX, CE7/CE2013, Mentor Graphics, Wind River, Green Hills, Arch Linux. For customers looking for a single board computer to go to production, please review the Nitrogen family of single board computers which are better suited for production applications.
