Nitrogen8ULP SOM

Under Development

Our new Nitrogen8ULP SOM is powered by the next generation low power NXP i.MX 8ULP processor and it’s specifically designed NXP PMIC PCA9460A. It features power efficient LPDDR4 RAM and eMMC storage. We combine this with a specifically designed carrier board; together they serve as a single board computer (SBC) that can speed your product to market. Alternately, work with us to create a custom carrier that fits your mechanical, environmental, temperature, and interface requirements. Low Power Heterogenous Multiprocessing: Up to 800 MHz dual-core Cortex-A35, ARM’s lowest power 64-bit microprocessor architecture, and 216 MHz Cortex-M33 microcontroller allow you to run Linux and an RTOS on dedicated, hardware-firewalled subsystems. Power Efficient: µPower management subsystem in the i.MX 8ULP, delivering 20 different power modes, combines with an NXP PMIC, power optimized LPDDR4 and eMMC memory to optimize core shut off, clock/voltage scaling, low power interfaces, and more to enable highly optimized power consumption.

Boundary Devices offers industry leading OS development and support to help customers get to market quickly and efficiently. Because we only design i.MX based hardware, we are able to optimize our OS development and provide the most up-to-date operating system versions available.

All of our Nitrogen SBCs and SOMs support a variety of OS options frequently requested in the embedded design space. Supported OS include:

Android
All of the boards in our Nitrogen6 and Nitrogen8 families support Android. Our internal development team works hard to ensure the latest version is available for development.
Linux
We have developed a variety of Linux OS available for our boards including the latest releases of Yocto, Ubuntu, Buildroot, and Debian.
FreeRTOS
Nitrogen boards that feature a processor with ARM Cortex-M4 support FreeRTOS

Information on set-up and image download links can be found on our Software Wiki or by contacting our support team at Support@boundarydevices.com.

Boundary Devices does not support application development. However, we are partners with a variety of 3rd party application development companies, including a global partnership with Qt. You can find our list of partners on our Partners page.
