Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Salary: $125,000-$175,000/Annual

Boundary Devices, LLC (“Boundary”) is a leading designer of proprietary embedded printed circuit boards used in a wide variety of commercial, industrial and consumer applications. Embedded computer boards control many devices in common use today and are at the core of “smart” technology and the “Internet of Things”. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Lake Forest, CA, Boundary serves more than 500 customers and is growing +20% annually.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Participate in Board Support Package

  • Performs OS customization (Linux / Android).
  • Leads Device driver development
  • Contributes to open-source projects(upstreaming changes)
  • Debugs and fixes issues reported by customers

Customer Service

  • Provides excellent customer support via forums and e-mails.

Testing and Internal Processes

  • Develops and maintains software system validation and testing methods (CI)
  • Documents all process changes and updates required documents accordingly

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years experience working in Embedded Systems (ARM Cortex) required

Demonstrated (proven) experience in:

  • C programming knowledge

Because we design only i.MX based boards, we are the industry leader in i.MX custom designs. All of our products are designed, tested and manufactured in the US.

Test Engineer

· Collaborate with engineering team to create and define product specifications.

· Work with engineering team to design test/validation hardware and software.

· Develop, maintain and conduct internal testing procedures and reports

· Maintain all board testing/validation requirements.

· Maintain all documentation related to products including test procedures and results.

· Interface with customers, internal stakeholders, and update Company website with proper documentation.

· Participate in brain-storming, design reviews, code reviews and continuous improvement processes

· Identify and troubleshoot non-conformances with testing results/procedures

Manufacturing Testing

· Visit Contract Manufacturers to validate test procedures/results.

· Provide necessary documentation for testing and validation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • 2+ Years experience in a similar position required

Position Title: SMT Operator

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Mon-Fri

Pay Range: $18.00-$28.00 per hour

Experience with Hanwha Solder Paste Printer and Hanwha Decan S1 Pick & Place Machine, and Heller Reflow Oven Highly Desired

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate and maintain SMT machine
  • Performing preventive maintenance and general housekeeping
  • Verify and inspect parts for defects and non-conformances, quality control/assurance
  • Meet daily production quantity and quality requirements
  • Provide support to other departments/personnel as needed
  • Troubleshoot equipment in an effective and efficient manner as per work instructions
  • Perform other duties as needed

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Vocational/technical certificate/coursework with electronics preferred
  • Experience with SMT required

Job Title: SMT Helper

Reports To: Director of Operations

Schedule: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Monday-Friday

Pay Rate: $16-$22/hr

Summary Responsible for assisting the SMT Technician and QC Inspector processing PCBA’s through the SMT Process

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the SMT Technician in setting up, operating and maintaining the SMT Machine
  • Performing preventive maintenance and general housekeeping
  • Verify and inspect parts for defects and non-conformances, quality control/assurance
  • Collaborate with SMT Team to meet daily production quantity and quality requirements
  • Provide support to other departments/personnel as needed
  • Assist QC Inspector in performing First Article and Final Inspection
  • Support manufacturing team in completing required documentation
  • Provide sufficient back-up support for QC Inspector and SMT Technician as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 1 years experience with SMT/PCBA’s (rework specifically)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and verify footprints for merging into shared parts libraries
  • Participate in all phases of design activities
  • Perform detail parts placement, layout, analysis, verification, and related work on new and existing printed circuit boards and complex assemblies.
  • Provide support to the design, development, prototype fabrication, and design verification activities
  • Generate required documentation for processes such as assembly, manufacturing and design
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Improve and update PCB design processes and procedures

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer or electrical engineering, or similar technical field
  • 5 years experience designing printed circuit boards using Altium Designer

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Impedance, differential pairing, routing techniques and EMF control
  • PCB design rules, fabrication specifications and processes
  • Knowledge of PCB form factors and specifications including PCI, PCIe, PMC, VME, Power Supplies, CPUs, etc.
