THE NITROGEN BOARDS - Freescale IMX51 ARM Cortex-A8 SBC
The Nitrogen family of boards are powerful single board computers that feature Freescale’s i.MX51 multimedia applications processor. The Nitrogen family consists of three boards: the Nitrogen-P, the Nitrogen-E, and the Nitrogen-VM.
The Nitrogen-P was designed for portable, battery-powered applications. The Nitrogen-E was designed for Power over Ethernet applications and has a variety of connectivity options. The Nitrogen-VM was designed for casino player tracking applications. Please click the pictures below to get more information.

The i.MX51 has an ARM Cortex A8 core running at 800MHz with an extremely efficient power footprint. The i.MX51 supports a multi-format HD 720p video decoder and D1 video encoder for high end multimedia applications. Utilizing the
Freescale MC13892 Power Management and User Interface IC, the Nitrogen boards contain LED backlight circuitry, touch screen interface, and provides flexible power management for battery
powered options.
The i.MX51 has been targeted toward a wide variety of applications and offers an exceptional price per performance ratio. The Nitrogen board has been designed to take advantage of the extreme versatility of the i.MX51, focusing
on maximizing multimedia performance while minimizing the power consumption. For low power and cost sensitive multimedia applications, the Nitrogen board is an ideal solution.
As an example of the versatility of the IMX51, we have put together a demo demonstrating the dual display capabilities of the Nitrogen boards. In this demo, our NitrogenE board is driving an 800x480 7" display as well as a 1280x800 22" monitor.
