Welcome your guests with multimedia flair. The Hydrogen Access Control unit puts a
dynamic face on all of your points of entry. With a 4.3" or 7" TFT display, the Hydrogen is a dual use state-of-the-art access control
system and digital signage device in a single, lightweight package. It allows custom graphics, sound, animation, even video allowing increased functionality
and potential revenue generation with the same traditional access control components. When the device is idle, it can be used to display class schedules,
announcements, advertisements, or logos…all of which can be changed remotely via the network.
The Hydrogen is an IP reader that receives power and a real-time network feed by a single Cat-5 cable and consumes less than 13 watts of power.
This versatile device supports all types of electronic locks. Fail-safe, fail-secure, self-powered or Hydrogen-powered: choose what fits your needs.
Multiple inputs and outputs are available, including software to support turnstiles and boom gates for parking. LED control exists for additional visual
cues and is especially useful for turnstile and parking applications.
Identification of guests, customers or staff members can be simplified through the use of 1D or 2D barcodes, magnetic stripe cards or RFID cards and key fobs.
The easy to use touch screen provides a mechanism to password protect the devices, and allows two-factor security for sensitive areas. An additional level of security
can be provided through the use of door cameras to record who is entering or leaving each opening.
Protecting your boundary has a new level of sophistication which can increase security and drive new sources of revenue and customer loyalty.
Why Power over Ethernet?
Power over Ethernet provides a variety of advantages over traditional AC power, especially in access control environments. Typically, a gang of 4 to 8 doors are connected
to a single power source, so if a single door needs to be serviced, the entire bank needs to be shutdown. If power is lost at the power supply, all 4-8 units go down. With
POE, each door is individually controlled and has a single link back to the network. With advanced POE routers/midspans, customers have the ability to shut off the power to
any single door remotely from any web-enabled computer.
Power over Ethernet provides a potentially significant cost savings by eliminating the need for high voltage wiring to each door. A single low voltage Cat-5 cable is wired to
each unit and the Hydrogen handles the rest…the reader, the door strike, and the display.

Digital Signage
Although many IP readers exist with POE functionality that allow the use of RFID, bar code, and magnetic stripe readers, there are none that allow the device to double as a digital
signage device. Because of the rapid drop in LCD costs, adding the digital signage element to this product does not affect the cost much. The Hydrogen provides the ability
to reach customers in a way that has never been done before…as a part of the access control system. The audio feature of the device allows for instant communication with customers
especially in emergency situations.
Why Boundary Devices?
Boundary Devices is a technology company that controls all facets of the Hydrogen Access Control unit. Because of this, there is substantial flexibility in creating customized solutions.
